Albert Lea, MN                                                                         November 8, 2000

Pursuant to due call and notice the City Council of the City of Albert Lea met in special session at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 8, 2000, to canvass the election returns of the municipal general election held on November 7, 2000. Said meeting was called as provided for in Section 4.01 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.

ROLL CALL

Present were Councilors David McPherson, Mary Kron, Al Brooks and Mayor Marvin Wangen. Also present were City Manager Paul Sparks and Council Secretary Sandi Behrens.

The City Council reviewed the ballots cast in the November 7, 2000, municipal general election and noted that the following vote totals were secured.

A. The number of votes cast was 8,613.

B. The ballots cast for the following candidates were:

Mayor –

Bob Haukoos 4343

Mark Anderson 4039

First Ward Councilor –

Warren Amundson 912

Donald Golde 902

Third Ward Councilor –

George Marin 842

Donald Mathison 607

Fifth Ward Councilor –

Mary C. Kron 427

John Severtson 422

Councilor McPherson moved, Councilor Brooks seconded, that Resolution 00-205, certifying the canvass of the municipal general election be adopted. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Wangen declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted.

ADJOURNMENT – 9:45 A.M.

Councilor McPherson moved, Councilor Brooks seconded, that there being no further business, the meeting be adjourned. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Wangen declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned.
