Pursuant to due call and notice, the City Council of the City of Albert Lea met in special session at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, to canvass the election returns of the Municipal General Election held on November 7, 2006. Said meeting was called as provided for in Section 4.01 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.
ROLL CALL
Present were Mayor Pro Tempore Al Brooks, Councilors George Marin, Vern Rasmussen, John Severtson and Jeff Fjelstad. Absent were Mayor Aaron Summers and Councilor Randy Erdman. Also present were City Manager Victoria Simonsen and Council Secretary Shirley Slater-Schulte.
RESOLUTION 06-264 ADOPTED – ELECTION, GENERAL – CANVASSING
The City Council reviewed the ballots cast in the November 7, 2006 Municipal General Election and noted that the following vote totals were secured.
A. The number of votes cast was 8,176.
B. The ballots cast for the following candidates were:

Councilor Marin moved, Councilor Rasmussen seconded, that Resolution 06‑264 certifying the canvass of the Municipal General Election be adopted. On roll call vote, Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor ProTempore Al Brooks declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted.

Councilor Marin moved, Councilor Rasmussen seconded, that there being no further business, the meeting be adjourned. On roll call vote, Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor ProTempore Al Brooks declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned.
