Albert Lea, MN                                                                                                 September 13, 2000

Pursuant to due call and notice, the City Council of the City of Albert Lea met in special session at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2000, to canvass the election returns of the Municipal Primary Election held on September 12, 2000. Said meeting was called as provided for in Section 4.01 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.

ROLL CALL

Present were Mayor Marvin Wangen and Councilors David McPherson, Ronald Sorenson and Al Brooks. Absent were Councilors Warren Amundson, Don Mathison and Mary Kron. Also present were Council Secretary Sandi Behrens and City Manager Paul Sparks.

The City Council reviewed the ballots cast in the September 12, 2000 Municipal Primary Election and noted that the following vote totals were secured.

1. The number of votes cast was 3280.
   
2. The ballots cast for the following candidates were:

MAYOR

Bob Haukoos 1730

Mark Anderson 945

Ray Brown 235

Keith Porter Jr. 178

Lissa M. Parrish 107

Steve Thorson 29

Benjamin A. Madrid 11

Jerry Chapman 9

 

Councilor McPherson moved, Councilor Sorenson seconded, that Resolution 00-176 certifying the canvass of the Municipal Primary Election, be adopted. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Wangen declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted.

ADJOURNMENT – 9:42 A.M.

Councilor Sorenson moved, Councilor McPherson seconded, that there being no further business, the meeting be adjourned. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Wangen declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned.
