September 13, 2006
Pursuant to due call and notice, the City Council of the City of Albert Lea met in special session at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, to canvass the election returns of the Municipal Primary Election held on September 12, 2006. Said meeting was called as provided for in Section 4.01 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.
ROLL CALL
Present were Mayor Aaron Summers, Councilors George Marin, Vern Rasmussen, John Severtson and Al Brooks. Absent were Councilors Randy Erdman and Jeff Fjelstad. Also present were Council Secretary Shirley Slater-Schulte and City Manager Victoria Simonsen.
RESOLUTION 06-230 ADOPTED – ELECTION, PRIMARY – CANVASSING
The City Council reviewed the ballots cast in the September 12, 2006 Municipal Primary Election and noted that the following vote totals were secured.
A. The number of votes cast was 2,543.
B. The ballots cast for the following candidates were:

SECOND WARD COUNCILOR

Councilor Marin moved, Councilor Rasmussen seconded, that Resolution 06-230 certifying the canvass of the Municipal Primary Election be adopted. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Aaron Summers declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted.

ADJOURNMENT – 4:15 P.M.
Councilor Marin moved, Councilor Rasmussen seconded, that there being no further business, the meeting be adjourned. On roll call vote, all Councilors voted in favor of said motion. Mayor Aaron Summers declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned.
