RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE
DONALD & IRENE JONES

            WHEREAS, the City of Albert Lea desires to purchase a specific property owned by Donald and Irene Jones (“Sellers”), 313 East College Street, which is located in the flood zone; and

            WHEREAS, the City has retained $20,000 from the DEED and DNR flood mitigation funds for the purchase of this property; and

            WHEREAS, the City will be responsible for the cost of demolition of the house located on this property; now, therefore

THE CITY OF ALBERT LEA RESOLVES:

            Sec. 1.       That the Mayor and City Manager are authorized to enter into a purchase agreement of property at 313 East College Street at a purchase price of $20,000.00 owned by Irene Jones of Albert Lea, MN and legally described as:

The easterly 33.09 feet of the southerly 60.85 feet of Lot 6, Block 27, Original Plat, City of Albert Lea, Freeborn County, Minnesota (Parcel #34-001-4030) is hereby authorized.

            Sec. 2.       That reading of this resolution is waived by Council consent.

            Sec. 3.       That publication of this resolution shall be dispensed with under provisions of Section 3.08 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.

That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilor Marin, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Councilors Rasmussen, Baker, Marin, Olson, Severtson, Brooks and Mayor Erdman.

And the following voted against the same: None.
