A RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT
STREET DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City Street Department has notified the City of the need to replace the 1988 Oil Distributor Truck #759 with 82,000 miles and 8,000 hours; and
WHEREAS, this expenditure has been proposed in the 2008 budget and would not be completed and paid for until 2008; and
WHEREAS, this oil distributor tank, controls, hydraulics and the installation are on the state bid contract; now, therefore
THE CITY OF ALBERT LEA RESOLVES:
Sec. 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with the purchase of the 2008 Oil Distributor Tank assembly and mounting from Ruffridge‑Johnson Equipment Co. Inc. for $67,169 less trade allowance for Unit #759 of $17,000 for a total of $50,169.00 and that the truck chassis be purchased from Interstate Motor Trucks through Astleford International for $55,932.00. The grand total of the combined purchase would be $106,101.00 plus sales tax and licenses.
Sec. 2. That reading of this resolution is waived by Council consent.
Sec. 3. That publication of this resolution shall be dispensed with under provisions of Section 3.08 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.
That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilor Baker, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Councilors Rasmussen, Baker, Marin, Olson, Severtson, Brooks and Mayor Erdman.
And the following voted against the same: None.
