A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION 07-37
ESTABLISHING RULES FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND
PROCEDURE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ALBERT LEA

            WHEREAS, the City Charter provides that the City Council shall adopt its own rules of procedure;

            WHEREAS, Resolution 07-37 provided a time limit to speak at five minutes; now, therefore

THE CITY OF ALBERT LEA RESOLVES:

Section 7.     Rules for addressing the council / rules of decorum

Subd. 1.  Address the council.  Interested persons or their authorized representatives may address the council in regard to matters then under consideration.

  1. Time limit.  Each person addressing the council shall step up to the microphone, shall give his/her name and address in an audible tone of voice for the record, and unless further time is granted by the presiding officer, shall limit his address to two minutes and one topic of discussion.  All remarks shall be addressed to the council as a body and not to any member thereof.

 

That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilor Severtson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Councilors Rasmussen, Baker, Marin, Olson, Severtson and Mayor Erdman.

And the following voted against the same: Councilor Brooks.
