A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH
ARTSPACE PROJECTS, INC. FOR REAL ESTATE ARTS
DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES

            WHEREAS, Artspace Projects, Inc. (“Artspace”) has agreed to perform services for the City relating to a two-day visit to determine prefeasibility of an arts facility development in Albert Lea; and

            WHEREAS, Artspace will meet with key city leadership and economic development officials to educate about arts development and civic involvement; and

            WHEREAS, a Community Forum will be held to discuss the community and economic development impact as it relates to the proposed mixed-use, artist live/work project; and

            WHEREAS, Artspace will deliver findings and recommended next steps through a wrap-up meeting and written executive summary; now, therefore

THE CITY OF ALBERT LEA RESOLVES: 

            Sec. 1.       That a contract for the two-day visit and consulting work to be performed by Artspace Projects, at a cost of $3,000.00, is hereby authorized.

            Sec. 2.       That the Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Albert Lea.

            Sec. 3.       That reading of this resolution is waived by Council consent.

            Sec 4.        That publication of this resolution shall be dispensed with under provisions of Section 3.08 of the Charter of the City of Albert Lea.

That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilor Olson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Councilors Rasmussen, Baker, Marin, Olson, Severtson, Brooks and Mayor Erdman.

And the following voted against the same:  None.
